Our Mission

Every child sees the world through a different perspective. When a child is interested in something the world seems to open up and wonder takes over. It is our job as parents to nurture this wonder and to help them learn everything they can about the world around them. Taking these learning opportunities may seem difficult, however with a little observation, patience and discussion these moments can become stepping stones to the knowledge that defines who your child becomes. In this blog we will help you to look at the world through the eyes of your child and give you the next steps to make that wonder into knowledge. Please join us on our journey as we explore the world in a fun, creative and educational way.

Educating children has always been a personal quest of mine. I began my career by graduating from Manhattanville College with an Education major. This allowed me to immediately begin teaching while getting my Masters from Columbia University. My degree was in Transcultural Education with a focus on Peace Studies. Working in Brooklyn, New York public schools, I immediately implemented my degree by developing my own Peace Studies curriculum. There I spent five years working with kindergarten through fifth grade students nurturing a more peaceful environment through conflict resolution, fairness, equality diversity, and global awareness. Currently I am home teaching my two little masterpieces, Luna (3) and Eli (2). I would love to take my next step in helping you to teach your masterpieces too!

imageEver since I can remember, I was creating crafts and decorating my room. There has never been an art project that I was not interested in trying. It only seemed natural to go to college for the arts. After college my husband and I moved to Los Angeles where I worked in television until 2011 when we had our first child, Chloe, and decided to stay at home. Shortly after she was born we wanted to try for a second and along came Noah. With only 16 months between the two I spent the next year in baby fog. Now that I have a preschooler and a toddler I love teaching them about the world around us. They are my inspiration for cofounding The Chicken’s Egg. I am excited to take you on this journey with my family.
